Over the years, I directed several times a play called “Gold, Frankincense, Christmas Tree Ornaments and Myrrh” by Thomas Olson. It is one of the best retellings of the Christmas story since Matthew, Mark and Luke wrote it. I used an instrumental version of this carol for Mary’s music. Every time I hear it, with vocal or instrumental, I am filled with lovely memories of that play and those very special times.
