a thought for today
Posted: January 20, 2017 Filed under: Books, Politics, Society 3 CommentsA thought on this day of sadness, depression, and despair:
“I wish it need not have happened in my time,” said Frodo.
“So do I,” said Gandalf, “and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.”
That is the truth. It is the best we can do for now.
Thanks to my good friend Tahoe Mom for the reminder of this passage.
Mike, please, please, raise your energy level out of sadness, depression and despair. If you stay there, darkness wins. I’m not denying these feelings. I have them too ~ and we must find our way to positive resistance. And gratitude. You and Terry have a good life. You have each other. You are living close to family. You enjoy cooking and discovering new things for the kitchen. All of these are good and life and Light giving. Please, come back. Decide to spend the time given in Love and Light and peaceful determined resistance. You are too good a man to let this weigh you down so much. Blessings as we make this journey together –
Thank you, Tahoe Mom. I am working on it! Yes, positive resistance and gratitude. And I’m trying a new recipe for dinner tonight. (Not to mention the tasty deli sandwich I had after my church meeting this afternoon.)
Good for you! Many of us are supporting each other in this endeavor.
