Bishop Michael Curry’s royal wedding sermon
Posted: May 21, 2018 Filed under: Episcopal thoughts, Faith, Religion, Spirituality 2 CommentsWe preempt our regularly scheduled blog to bring you the royal wedding sermon by The Most Rev. Michael B. Curry, the 27th Presiding Bishop of The Episcopal Church. It is well worth fourteen minutes of your time. You may want to have a Kleenex handy.
Powerful. And that poor man, coming from an American black church background, preaching out of that experience, to a large congregation of staid, British royals who aren’t giving anything back. At least they laughed when he said “Two young people fell in love and we all showed up.” Phew – hard audience and he just kept going and was wonderful.
Tahoe Mom, Wonderful indeed. And we Episcopalians are absolutely delighted. When our supply priest mentioned his sermon on Sunday there were Amens and applause from the congregation. (And by the way, his background is Episcopal because his mother found the Episcopal church which was ready and willing to take her in.)
